Ciarán Cuffe

MEP for Dublin

Dublin’s Green MEP

I’m working in the European Parliament  to make Dublin the best city in Europe for living, working, and raising a family. That means taming the traffic, providing decent housing that people can afford, creating quality jobs and ensuring we’ve clean air, parks and play spaces. Together with Grace O’Sullivan MEP we are  working as part of the Greens/EFA team to deliver on climate action, a just transition and safeguard human rights in Europe and around the world.

What I stand for

I started off in politics by campaigning to save Viking Dublin at Wood Quay back in the 1980s. Since then I’ve lived and worked in Dublin’s inner city for over thirty years. I’m trained as an architect and urban planner, and for many years lectured in urban design at TU Dublin on Bolton Street.  I’ve been a city councillor, TD and Minister of State, and now I’m proud to serve as Dublin’s Green MEP. My work on the Transport and Energy Committees of the European parliament is focused on climate action, housing and promoting walking and cycling. I also campaign on planning and heritage issues, and want to see Dublin as Europe’s Green Capital in 2023.
